Wings, Tings, Callings & Kings is a layered exploration of Black masculinity, identity, and resilience in contemporary Britain. The piece is set against the backdrop of a government work-readiness programme, and delves into themes of trauma, systemic inequality, mental health, intergenerational grief, and the complexity of redemption. Through the diverse experiences of the group of men Black men, it examines the burden of societal expectations, the power of creative self-expression, the cycles of violence and poverty, and the struggle to reclaim agency and purpose. At its heart, the play is a poignant tribute to community, brotherhood, and the transformative potential of truth, vulnerability, and collective healing.
